Here are some notes from my ski journal:
Sunday River - Saturday 1/21/06 Sunny, warm, 30-51F. The snow was great today. Mostly soft corn snow. There were some scratchy sections under the corn snow but overall very good if it had been April. I’m not ready for 51 degrees in January. I skied all over the resort from 8am until 2pm(when a rain shower moved in). Had a nice warm sunny lunch on the Barker deck. Trails of the day were AMEX and Upper Tempest as snow had been made on them on Thursday night and they were nice soft manmade (not corn).
Sunday River- Sunday 1/22/06
Cold; teens to twenties. The snow was firm and edgable. Conditions were much better than I expected after being in the 50s yesterday. Snow was being made on Risky Business, Right Stuff, Obsession, and Excalibur. Unfortunately of the snowmaking trails only Obsession and middle Risky (from lazy river to lower lazy river) were open while I was there. The snow under the guns was great. Obsession was the trail of the day. I only skied from 8-10:30.
