I like reading your mid week reports, thanks.

Upper Vrotex got changed to Borealis last year to insure beginners did not think Vortex had any easy beginner parts. Can't wait to ski some of Jordan this weekend. Airglow was pretty good after they opened it up.Many got confused on how to find it.

Nice report.

I appreciate the mid-week posts as well, thanks!

Hopefully I'll get to post one sometime soon... Waiting for a good dump of natural before I burn a vacation day.

I'm making my first trip up in late February. Killer deal through a ski club org. Looking forward to it and will keep reading your trip reports!

I got another day in at the river, well part of a day. It was single digits for temps, so extra clothing was the word. Not very crowded, certainly less than yesterday.

I hit Right stuff first, just because I like right stuff. Then took Lazy River to the Chondy and took a couple runs on Escapade and dream maker. Then I headed up the Spruce mountain triple, looking to get over to Jordan Bowl, if possible. I was able to ski down Airglow and up the fixed grip quad to upper vortex, aludra and take Lights out to get outta there! No one else was there, but I didn't want to spend time on a fixed grip quad the way the wind was blowing. It was really blowing over there, as usual. I could see Jordan bowl from there. Lots of snow blowing!!!! Soon!! Real soon!! The Jordan lift wasn't running. They had the traverse lift going so folks at the Jordan hotel could ski out. I'm imagining a shuttle bus ride back.

I have to give props to the River for snow making and grooming. No bump lines, but that is because they are spreading out in terrain and maintaining a thin coverage over what is open. They are doing a great job. If ever there was any natural snow, the place would be rocking it. It's unfortunate that coverage is so thin, but they are getting good bases down and opening more terrain. Come on snow!!!!

I rode up with a Sugarloaf worker, and he said they are in the same situation. If only some real snow would make an appearance....

Perhaps the best skiing I've had there this season. Tomorrow looks real good if you are thinking about it. I gotta work tomorrow....

Hopefully things get to improve soon; good to see the snow guns out there. Looks like this coming weekend is out for me too so I hope to see enough interest on a ski bus to SR on MLK Day for it to run as its a tougher day to get enough interest although they try it anyway
