Did the chairs last night. tried the gondola side today. Very cold. I still perfer not having to take off my great to ride the lift. entire event was a blast. Aw skiing today was pretty good as well. Snowing like crazy, just hope the winds are mellow enough to make turns in the am. 1st run on airglow today was in powder. 2pmp to 4pm was unreal. Most folks were already home. Crashing early today. I 'm interested to see what tolerance the chondola has for wind. I'll find out in the am.

Negative. Pure speed. One Gondola loads with 8 people, 3 chairs load with 18. Rinse, repeate. Sure, they get diminished capacity when they cannot use the chairs, but they have the ability to be 'dynamic'. Next year they intend on having extra chairs and gondolas, so they can dynamically change how it's loaded depending on the weather. So basically, it already IS a full gondola.

It also gives them mountain biking, etc in the summer, with a 'central access' to everything else.

Kind of playing devils advocate here.... but what is the advantage of this then to just having put in a Gondola? Just that people can ride chairs if that is what they prefer? Or just flexibility for wheather they want it to be a charilift or gondola?? I guess I kind of don't see the point of it over one vs the other?

18 people versus 8 in the same area on the rope. Also, faster to just sit down then take off your skiis, put them back on, etc..

Rode the chondi 2x on Sunday. Was there for the grand opening and some night skiing on Saturday, but just rode the chair. Chondi was fun and it has officially been "christened"....although I think the lifty and everyone in line behind my girlfriend and I thought we wanted a Hot Dog the Movie moment when we stepped aside to let a family of four go so we could ride alone. Good times...just pissed they had everything on wind hold Monday, because Sunday afternoon in Oz was epic.

Not exactly sure why it wasn't running yesterday. I know that everything except 3 chairs were on wind hold. Since lift 6 services essentially the same area...dont know why they didn't run it. I was psyched to try it out.
