We're open! Our incredible snowmakers have been living up to their reputation as the best around and thanks to them Sunday River was the first ski resort in the Northeast to open for the season on Thursday!

We'll start off Friday at 9 a.m. with T2 and we expect to add Upper Sunday Punch sometime during the day. We could even be skiing and riding top-to-bottom today! All trails are being serviced by the Locke Mountain Triple today, and downloading will be required until we can open up Cascades.

Open terrain is for intermediate and advanced levels only. Snowmaking is still underway so bring those goggles. Snowmaking will continue today on T2, Cascades, Jungle Road and others throughout the weekend. Our equally legendary groomers should also be able to get out in the next couple days. Stay tuned here and the snow phone for the most up to date info because the trail count will be growing all the time!

Early season ticket prices are $35 for adults and young adults, $25 for seniors and juniors, and $20 for an afternoon half-day. On Saturday and Sunday bring in three cans of food for the Tin Mountain Round Up and pay only $20 for all day skiing or riding.

Now that we're open, don't waste any time getting your Maine Pass. Ski Sunday River and Sugarloaf all season with great discounts and incentives at Boyne sister resorts including Loon Mountain in New Hampshire and Big Sky in Montana. More details on the pass can be found at www.sundayriver.com/seasonpass.html.

Get on up here and kick off the winter right!
