Skied a few hours with my 4 year old. Lots of fresh snow making all over the place. Plus blue bird skies, little wind and the horses for Wild West Day made it a winner for both my daughter and me. Here's the best part though:

At one point at the Over Easy/Tom's/Papoose merge, I asked if she wanted to try Papoose for the first time. Her response, "Are the bumps that way?" :) :spread: She did 3 runs through the entire Exhibition field. Crashed a bunch and just laughed it off. Tons of fresh snow making in there. Some flat ice too, but overall excellent snow. People including a lot of little kids were all over the moguls.

Worked NASTAR in the afternoon. It was quiet so I was able to get in 6 runs through the course (2 on bump skis, 4 times on some race skis Shannon lent me). I am so horrible at carving/racing. Pace set was 20.22 and the best I could manage was 26.05. Lame. It is fun though, and I definitely would like to improve. Overall, a great day/weekend of skiing at the mighty Sundown.

Love it! Out of your 2 girls I think you called the younger one gravitating towards the bumps. She does look tiny next to those bumps. :)

Great to see her in the bumps! I did notice that a lot of the childrens lesson in the morning were hitting them!

I got on the lift right around 8 and enjoyed plenty of fresh cord all over and then also had first tracks down the lower bumps in the fresh man made. Did one run down Temptor and found lots of solid ice all over.

Had some good top to bottom runs thru them and felt like I was carrying some speed, now I just have try some continuous runs on upper N'easter without stopping and looking for a line.

Nice!

I'm feeling like a lousy parent for not getting my kids out more often now...

I wouldn't say that. Plenty of time.

Abby didn't really "get it" until she was 5 or 6. She still reverts to a full wedge when the pitch gets steeper. But she likes it and is having fun. Livie is a bit of an anomaly I think. she's always been more adventurous. She's only been skiing independently for one day, but she saw those sunny moguls and went right for them without even thinking. She still has an edgie-wedgie on her tips for goodness sake!

I've put in a lot of time with them, sacrificing my own skiing a bit in the process which is fine. Looking forward to the next family day out there when all four of us can cruise together.

how tall are you, like 7' 8" or something? I think it would have to be made out of reinforced concrete.

I'm gonna put an edgy wedgie on both ends of my skis, to keep my feet together in the bumps... ;)

There's no way that I could ever make that look cool... I actually saw a guy riding one at Sundown 3 or so years ago.

Didn't 2knees rock one of those back in the day?
