I know I've talked up Sundown a lot over the years, but they are absolutely burying the place. First year I've seen daytime snowmaking opps...and during Christmas week. I was there for 4 hours from 10:30-2:30 today and back from 7-9:30 pm. I saw piles grow big time. Gunny was nuts. Sticky ass snow, but like a blizzard. They will be 100% tomorrow, first in the East. Yeah, small hill, but still impressive.

Talked to Chris for a minute tonight. Nor'easter and Ex bumps for Wednesday. That's the plan right now.

Awesome! I took Wednesday off! I am there for the break in period!

Was surprised they were not blowing on nor'easter to build base... But the effort elsewhere was impressive. Bumps by wed would be awesome.... I'll be there to ski em in. Twisters being tuned as we speak.

the cold we're expecting next week is legit. it makes more sense to wait for decent snow making weather, as opposd to adding layers of paste, crushing it up. and making piles of cookies.

next week is going to be a crazy week around here as we expand the base and trail widths, add bumps, do the first real park set ups on both toms and stinger, widen the race trail AND welcome back all hte afterschool kids.

Keep it going! Lots of good energy around here with the whole 100% open thing already. we're all pretty pumped.

Makes sense... not that the cookie piles would have been shunned.... you guys have had an uphill battle all year, but have really put in an effort. If only mother nature would lend a hand... I did see the projected cold next week... just fear that it will be more moderate than currently modeled....

Happy with everything above except this part "AND welcome back all hte afterschool kids", :flame: mostly just the cocky lil shits IMO, I have run into some great lil ones as well, just cant stand the onse who yell on the lifts, sit in front of features, and throw snowballs. (Good thing for them I'm a local and dont want to get my pass pulled for whoopin some kiddie ass):dontknow:

That aside Sundown has totally killed it this year, I've personally been there EVERY day so far and watched the mountain progress from nothing to something really special. I can also say that each day has been better than the last, from the RFID Gates to the trail count and the base depth. Keep doing what you do Ski Sundown as I am proud to call you my Local Hill of Choice....BRING IT!!!!!:snow:

Yesterday at Sundown, my 5 year old fell going down the top half of Stinger. I was slightly below him as I waited for him to ski down to me. Immediately after his fall, a little grom, probably a 9th or 10th grader, skied right up to him and asked him if he needed help getting back up to his feet. It was a little thing, but it went a long way in affirming my feelings about Sundown...good people and good vibes overall. Looking forward to skiing there again tomorrow.
