For Sundown fans or anyone else that's interested. Sundown is celebrating their 40th season this year. They have a pretty cool timeline on their Web site:

Cool little ski area we have here.

Thanks, I had seen the section celebrating the 40th anniversary, but missed the timeline.

I think they still have that snow cat in the news article from '69. :D

What about this one? Do they still even use it?

There's actually an old Sundown training video that shows Bob running one of the chairs...

and in 15 years or so when you buy the place, you can have the same vid!!!

awesome timeline. I was skiing there regularly when they added nor-easter but i have no recollection of it NOT being there. I do remember skiing horn, which is now gone. off the map anyway.

I just think it's going to be a great place to get all the kids skiing. Gonna be one helluva AZ rugrat group in a few years. Are you bringing your oldest there at all this year?

Yes, they use the Spryte. Not for grooming, obviously, but to move stuff around the hill. I saw it performing various duties last season.

Since I made the claim that Sundown flattened all the bumps, perhaps? You guys were about to have a coronary that time...

Here's a 1964 Tucker that's fully functionable and still used in the snow making fleet. It'll go under a full restoration next summer for it's new life as part of the Ski Sundown fleet. We run it 3 times a year. Because it's cool.

That spryte is used all the time. It's a work horse that was rebuilt 2 summers ago and should be around for a lot longer. We move equipment with it. check that timeline for pictures of when it was the groomer with the powder makers behind it. Powder makers. HA

can't wait for the 400
