Has anyone ever spent the $215 or $225 on SureFit custom boot insoles? Is it worth it? I bought new Lange boots last year and they are fine. But I have a funky bone on my inner left ankle that has been bugging me this year. It sticks out further than the bone on my right ankle. So I go into SureFit in Killington this past Sunday to get that boot blown out a bit in that one area and they try selling me custom insole instead. Any one else have this issue?

I have custom insoles, not sure if they are surefit or not. But they ran a little less than $200. It may be getting better support for your foot would move that bone into a different position. What did they tell you? Stock footbeds are crap, so if that is what you have now you may want to try some $30 Superfeet first before spending more. My arch doesn't fall in the right place to work with off the shelf superfeet so I like to go custom. They do last a long time and you can move them from boot to boot.

I wouldn't get a custom insole if the problem is a protruding bone.

I got Superfeet for my new boots this fall and hated them. I gave them 10 days and took them out. This was surprising because I wear orthotics in all my other shoes and love them.

Yea I think I'm just gonna get a little extra room blown out for that bone.

Been having similar issues. The shop that I went to just put some padding around my foot, heat up the liner and then put my foot in the liner and into the boot it made the plastic expand just enough to make a huge difference. It hurt like hell when he was doing it but it only cost me $40. I now have an idea of what women go through....looking good hurts I guess.

I stopped at the infinite shop in waitsfield and they guy there (Sean I think) spent the better part of an hour working in my boots. He was really good and it made a world of difference. Think it ran me 80 bucks with the sure foot insoles

Infinite Sports in Waitsfield is definitely worth the stop. I've had custom inserts in my boots for years now-- don't remember the brand. In my street shoes I use Powerstep orthotics (over the counter) for plantar faciitis. I would suggest starting out with these since they're only about $40 retail.
