Tele or Alpine?

Just looking to change it up...like when I surf, somedays I want to shortboard, other days its the longboard......

Start on tele gear. The alpine turn will be your bread and butter/shit-hit-the-fan turn. It's nice to try and tele everything, but the alpine turn can be quicker, IMO. You will learn both. It's fun to do both. I love twitching thru some tight woods, then busting out a huge tele carve in the open spots. Eventually, you'll just not have to fall back on your alpine turn. That's my experience anyway.
Alpine came about after lifts. It makes skiing easier for the masses, but if you plan on any off trail skiing, tele can be much easier.
