Got back at 3AM today after 3 connecting flights to get home. Trip was bookended with fresh snow Sunday and this past Friday so conditions were good to great for groomers, bumps, trees and hiking out. The resort continues to expand its boundaries and is a great place for all levels of skiers. Plenty of green to extreme and everything in between. I'm feeling a bit under the weather due to coughers and sneezers on the planes, the shots below were taken off Lift 12 Prospect Bowl, Black Iron Bowl and Palmyra Peak.

Seriously this is my new favorite in Colorado at least. I'm going there tues/wed this week. I want to go next week too but am hanging with a friend up at Steamboat.

The terrain is just sooo good. The steeps are really steep, groomers perfect, bumps underrated, crowds minimal.

This was my first time there. For bumpaholics, the place had 1000's of vert. feet worth of moguls for all skill levels. Revelation bowl was top to bottom bumps. Confidence, Andy's Gold, Little Rose, bump, bump ,bump... Taking into account that the area had a snow drought prior to arriving, it wasn't a surprise to see that much mogul action. Place is pricey, but no more or less than other toney destinations. With a little perservence, you can find value. we stayed in a 4 bedroom condo so most of us stocked up the kitchen/bar and ate in, packed lunches or came back for lunch and made dinner. Free gondy rides to the mountain and town is an added bonus. I had dinner in town on Valentine's day, found a nice french place, La Marmotte, next to the Icehouse, and got a Fixe Prix 3 course dinner for $45.
A few more random pix once I clear up some memory here.

Everything I read about Telluride makes me want to go there. Getting there from RI is somewhat challenging. Liked the pictures. The dog is very cute, was he ordering a brown ale?

Great thread. I will be in Terlluride (first time) 3/13-17. skiing three days. EWR to Montrose non-stop with one stop connector coming home. Did the OP stay in Telluride or Mountain Village...I am staying at Camel's Garden Hotel in town at base of Lift 8/Gondola.

You mentioned Revelation Bowl full of moguls. Do they at least groom a path down or is the entire bowl moguls? Nice to give the legs a break once in a while! ;)

Any other advice for a first timer in T-Ride? Good apres or bars/restaurants? Did any of you ever take the free mountain tour? Thinking of taking this the first day to get a good lay of the land.

Thanks!

Yes, They groom a strip top to bottom for non bumpers or a bailout on Revelation. We stayed in Mountain Village, Bear Creek Lodge. Camel's Garden is well situated, check out Rico's in the Icehouse a short walk away, X-Cafe right in the camel's garden or the Hopgarden in the village to name a few. I toured for about an hour with a group the first day, then split off and skied. Too many people, too much time. Good Pizza-Brown Dog Pizzeria in town. Lotsa good restaurants in town, Siam (thai), New Sheridan (Amreican) La Marmotte (french). Good italian one as well, can't think of the name right now. That's based on others reviews, not mine. I ate at La Marmotte, X-cafe, Hopgarden and the Brown Dog. All good.

Just back from a week at Steamboat - TR coming - and it snowed a few inches everyday there.

BUT - Denver TV was saying Telluride got...is this correct...30 inches on Monday and Tuesday?!!?!? Most of the storms this year have been going south and apparently Telluride is buried.

We left Saturday AM, it started snowing Thursday PM and it was snowing all day Friday into Sat, estimates ranged from 2-3' by Mon. By the time I had gotten off the mountain around 4PM Friday, there was at least a foot at the higher elevations with whiteout conditions. I stuck to the Prospect bowl area and the trees where it was more protected and the wind blew snow over the ridge into that bowl. I was seriously thinking about extending the stay but woulda caught massive shit on the homefront. Good news is, its puking all over the Northeast and were planning the next trip. :)
