Feb 16 -21 heading to SW Colorado, most of the time will be spent riding at Telluride. Will be staying in Ouray (to enjoy the 1/2 price Tride ticket), so we will be driving to the mountain each day. Any inside information on which parking lot/lift will get us from the car to the mountain quickly? Good tree areas? Places to avoid? Finally, good Mexican, steaks and/or beers :beer: in town?

They are currently getting dumped on, supposed to be 24" plus by the time it is all said and done.:snow:

Also, Anyone ever drive Red Mountain pass in the winter? Looks quite sketchy.

Thanks in advance!!

Telluride=my new favorite area.

Last Dollar saloon for 2$ pbr. Gold Hill Chutes for some of the most insane inbounds in the country. Trails on the darkside are nice and steep right into town. The hike to stuff is simply unbelievable, longer you hike the better the snow. The altitude will kill you coming from sea level, ski off the lifts for a couple days first. The mogul runs are pretty obvious but rival anything I've ever skied including Mary Jane, Taos, Steamboat. Stay away from the Mountain Village side base-no liftlines really just kind of boring. There is good low-angle intermediate tree skiing off lift 10, there are a couple really steep and fun coin slot like areas in there too.

Park in the free garage before the mountain village right after the info booth. Take the gondola the to 5?. Before getting in the gondola there is a really really expensive grocery store with a liquor store attached. They sell 24 oz pbr for 2 bucks. buy one! There are lots of horny looking cougars everywhere-apply yourself!

Also if your going to hit happy hour in town take the gondola from mtn village over to town. It will actually save time and you will avoid running the gauntlet from Telluride. The gondola is open pretty late.

How are you scoring half-price tix. You must know a pa$$holder

Thanks for the info!!

We are staying in Ouray. Telluride mountain has a deal with the lodging in Ouray where if you stay Ouray, you get half price tix. Not sure what the reason is, but I will take it either way!!
