Took a drive to Tenney Mountain yesterday to see the Hornet Double. As I'm sure many of you have heard there are rumors about a HSDQ being installed this summer by the new owners. Does anyone have any insight on this?

I've heard the same. Judging by the pics, it is on the way. In the off-season, ski areas take "some" chairs off the line for their fixed grip lifts, but not all. It also appears that the line is slack and that the wiring in pic four is from the terminal. All signs of removal in my opinion.

i would suspect they would install the lift somewhere else on the mountain. the south side trails could certainly be expanded (there is a nice expert run on that end of the area) and a lift would be cool to access a nice expert pod. the lift is rather old, but they could also sell the entire lift to another area. this is all pending it isn't just a re-splicing of the cable, i can't think of any other reason all the chairs would come down.

Here is the email responce I recieved from Tenney:

Thank you for your inquiry into Tenney Mountain. You are correct; the
chairs are off the Hornet Double. We had hoped to have our HSDQ installed
this summer for the upcoming season, but we were unable to guarantee full
operation/installation before the season began. We will continue with
regular maintenance on the Hornet Double and it will be up and running for
our December opening. We are focusing on snowmaking improvements over the
summer and have already widened some trails and extended John's Park! If
you have any questions, please feel free to email me any time!

Thank you once again for your interest in Tenney Mountain.
