I'd like to take my family to the river for a week ( we went this last sprong while staying at loon...very long drive).

It doesn't seem that the river accomodates familys because they treat everyone at the same rate. At least I hadn't seen any family pacjages. It's almost cheaper to fly/stay/ski at breckenridge.

Are there any future plans to have family packages so I can afford to go?

I love the river and was glad to get back...especially since it dumped a foot of pow Wed. Apil 5th and there was no one there.

Good question. Are you sure about that one? Out of the places that Ms. TB and I looked, it was the cheapest. But then again we don't have kids.

Let's say it's 59 bucks, ski and stay per night...pretty good deal for 2 people, especially if yo both work.

For me that's $295 per night, or $1475 for 5 days....

Hmmm you know what...that ain't half bad...but that's almost the same price a the freedom season pass....

OK, another question...since Sunday river use RCI for exchanges, will they ever open up to doing Interval International as well???

Or how do .....and this is an RCI question, get my home resort as part of RCI?

SR is rare among other large ski resorts in New England that it doesn't provide online
lodging reservation. When I was shopping around for a package for the
Feburary school vacation ski trip, SR quickly dropped off of my list due to that
inconvenience. Do you have plan to provide online lodging booking system for
the next season?

Did I miss something here? If you go to the Sr Web site There is a lodging linc and then room or package linc from there. Was this different in the winter or did I miss the question. I know there was a discussions that Vip pass lodging only could be done over the phone. www.sundayriver.com/summer/lodging.html

Wow...this is news. I always thought you could book online. Are you referring to "book a specific unit(s)" or something? I know I shopped online for the 'loaf in 2004.

Hmm, that is strange. Back in November when I was looking around, I couldn't find anything on SR site for booking online. I was pretty sure it was SR but I might be mistaken for other resort. Never mind about my question then.

Comments On 2005 Annual Report

The following is from the 2005 ASC Annual Report:

Sunday River. Sunday River, located in the western mountains of Maine and approximately a three-hour drive from Boston, is the fourth largest ski resort in New England with approximately 525,000 skier visits during the 2004-05 ski season. Extending across eight interconnected mountains, its facilities consist of approximately 660 acres of skiable terrain and an additional 7,000 acres of undeveloped terrain. We have development plans for a resort village at the Jordan Bowl Area (the most westerly peak), which eventually could include over 1,350 units and 1.1 million square feet of total development. Sunday River is a year-round resort offering hiking and various other summer amenities. We entered into an agreement with an unrelated third party for the construction, development, and operation of an 18-hole championship golf course, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., in the Jordan Bowl area which was opened during the summer of 2005. We believe that the golf course project will further enhance the value and attractiveness of the Sunday River resort as well as real estate development opportunities controlled by us.

Would you care to elaborate on the resort village in Jordan Bowl, the 7,000 acres of undeveloped terrain and the "various other summer amenities".

Hope I made it under the wire.

Alex, congrats on participating for three diff resorts in three seasons. I hope it's (being at three resorts over that period) has worked out well for you.

Based on recent thread regarding the cost of gas, and the associated added cost to skiing...will (or does) SR offer incentives to draw folks from the MA/CT/VT locals?

I have never been to SR...but that's about to change. However, I'd be more inclined to make it more than a couple of times if there were incentives. Mountains of Distinction program gives discounts to pass holders from other mountains. SOme places (Ragged?) offer car-load deals. Cannon/Wilodcat and others offer 2-fer days.

Thanks

Sky521 .. The pass sugestion is a great idea. The resorts that offer discounts to other mountain pass holders get skier visits from me every year.

Wachusett participates in the Mountains of Distinction program. there are about 12 resorts that also participate. Okemo and Sunapee are the two closest to me. There's a smallish resort on the ME/NH border that also participates...and Windham (NY), one place in West Va, and one in Michigan I think.

Here's the link: http://www.getskiing.net/guarantee.cfm

This does NOT include places like Wildcat who (near the end of their season) seem to annually offer similar (50%) discounts for ANY pass holder.
