we all know DMC likes to hit the skins, who else plays an instrument or is in a band?

i am currently in the process of rediscovering the guitar after letting it fall by the way side during my DJ'ing days in boston. sucks having lost so much of the chops after working on it so much during my college years. i have played numerous wind instruments as well over the years, i used to be a decent trumpet player and learned to play a baritone and mellophone horn. gave that stuff up post college, though i did try to give the trumpet another shot with a community band a few years ago, just wasn't feeling it.

who else plays what?

Percussion, hand drums to be more specific. I never hit a show without getting a little parking lot action with the djembe.

I was accomplished on the trombone back in junior high school ........

Acoustic guitar. I know lots of Dave Matthews stuff. At one time, I recorded a few tracks with members of a DMB message board. One guy would lay down guitar, another vocals, another bass, etc... Somebody would then mix it all down. They came out pretty good actually. Kind of a virtual band! I'll try to dig some up and post them. It might be cool to do something similar with AZers...

Okay, this is the only one I could find:

Grey Street - DMBTabs.com

We did this a few years ago. I'm on rhythm guitar, another guy did the accompanying guitar track, another did a simple electric fill during the the chorus. If I remember correctly, the lead singer was from Great Britain and he had one hell of a voice. I did backup vocals too, but my voice sucks. I think I laid down the rhythm first and then Emailed that to the guy to do a lead vocal track. Both of those went to the other two guitar players and then I got all the separate tracks back and mixed them down. We also did Don't Drink The Water where I played bass and 12 string, but I can't find that one. Anyway, enjoy.

I play clarinet (the whole clarinet family), but that doesn't quite fit your Band idea. I used to sing, havent for a long time.

Used to be in bands, at first playing guitar and/or singing. Sang in the chamber choir in HS... did the open mic acoustic singer/songwriter thing for some time... latest bands I played drums (much easier to find people to jam with as a drummer).
Lately I haven't touched any musical instruments and the last time I played with a band was Dec 05...

At this point I'd be up for anything from lead guitar to shaking a tambourine

I used to play piano and then flute (almost 14 years...) until I changed my major in college from music to computer science ;)

I haven't played much since. I now sing in a local college choir. It's hard to get back in shape to play a woodwind instrument - I guess I'm too lazy to practice it regularly (and too busy with skiing and other stuff).

The guy from DMBTabs.com who did the lead vocals on these projects found the Don't Drink the Water that we did. Same guy on lead vocals, different guy on 6 string rhythm, me on the bass and 12 string. Grey Street was better, but this was my first attempt at bass.

I played tenor and/or baritone (LOTSA WIND) sax in high school a long time ago. I sing bass in a barbershop chorus and in a quartet now. I don't think you are going to need me for the AZ band. You know me, always marching to a different drummer....

I played clarinet and saxaphone in high school. Was alright. Made it to all state a couple times, all new england a couple times, etc.

Been ticklin' the ivories for a few years too. All classical/romantic era though.
