Ok, this is a pretty useless thread, but I've noticed the ridiculous number of Marc's and Mark's that post here and most have it as all or part of their board name... so if you're one, post something about how wonderful everyone with that name is...

My biggest pet peeve with the spelling given to me by my parents is when someone assumes it isn't my full name...

Idiot: "You mean, your full name is just 'Marc'... it isn't 'Marcus'?"
Me: *sigh*

My name is Matt, not marc/k but the first 2 leters are the same.

Ha, good enough. That reminds me, that's my second biggest pet peeve... it might be the way I mumble, but a lot of the time after I introduce myself, the person will then start calling me either "Mike" or "Matt"... I don't know.

I wonder if MarkC really spells his name Marc, but can't on this board because Marc already took the name, or if his name really is Mark C.

At any rate, Mike, good thread idea!

I know what you mean, Matt. I get Craig all the time. Sometimes in print I see Gregg but I usually let that slide.

People can't seem to grasp that my name is Sled. They think it's "Ed". Likewise, when they see "Edward" they call me "Ed" or "Eddie" I have to keep telling them it's "Sled". For all the evil that ASC brought us, at least they didn't give me a hard time about putting "Sled" on my pass.

Back, somewhat on topic: A few months back, I'm working an overtime shift, but I don't pay attention to the lineup at roll call. We head to the far end of town for a call with the engine company from the substation. As I walk in, I see the Lt, Mark, and say: "Mark. What's going on?" All three turn around. It was like the Austrailian philosophy school in Monty Python where everyone was named "Bruce".

Your real name is sled? That is cool.

I'm not a Marc/k, I'm a Randi, which can be equally as bad. Because I'm either: assumed to be Randy, a dude, ("What's this? I was expecting a guy....") or it's assumed that Randi is a contraction for Miranda or something equally as icky.

Does anyone ever think you're just "randy, baby"??

Good point. Well, as long as this thread is going as well as it is, how do you like your PE's? I'm thinking about making them my touring ski.

I dont own them anymore. I sold them this past weekend.......

But it wasnt because they were a crappy ski, or anything like that. I loved them. they were plenty stiff to ski very aggressive on, wide enough to make powder skiing alot of fun even for my slim self at 250#. Plus they throw up a awesome rooster tail.

The 2 downfalls I have of them are. 1 the graphics. I don't want guns and stuff like that all over my skis:uzi:. 2, They have a very soft top sheet. Very easy to make the things look like crap, especially in lift lines and such were others are stepping on your skis.:flame:

I would have no problem getting another pair, I just want to try something else.

*Maybe I should update the signature.......*

Cool. You told me all I need to know. I care about them being reasonably stiff and good for aggressive skiing. The two downfalls are the two things I could care less about (particularly if they become my new BC rig, they won't see a liftline...)
