Wow what a great day. 1-2” on top of perfect grooming on east side, whales on Sorcerer, and whales with ongoing pixie dust snowmaking on Talisman was spectacular- can’t make better snow. Pic on Tali under natural and made made guns. Should be a great weekend, get some.

Talisman and Sorcerer are a playground with the smooth sking whales. That is such good snow. A welcome surprise for a warmup is Wizard. I have never cared for the trail that much. However, it is groomed to perfection. The most enjoyable I have ever skied it. Start on it and finish with it when you are tired. Can't wait for Thursday.

I agree 100% on West Side this season. Wizard is unreal this year! Everyone on the chair that was skiing it agreed!
I can't wait to see snow making on Witch and Black Line. Props to Magic Snowmakers! Thank you Ma Nature as well.

Now can we please have a few 12" drops of snow in Southern VT ???

Agreed. Wizard was skiing perfect. The mountain seems much bigger with the West opened up with options. Really fun weekend. Even Twilight skied pretty well.

Glad Wizard was better this weekend. Lot of brown ice last Monday, wasn't very fun getting out and back from Sorcerer and Slide of Hans.

Wish Twilight was open last week!

Now that the pond is empty, can they refill from Thompsonburg Brook? It sure doesn't look like much runoff for the coming weeks (which is of course a great thing).

Not enough flow.

There’s water in Blue Gentian pond but not sure how they get access without being creative, and whether it’s worth the effort given such progress. Or whether it’s enough.

Meanwhile as they consider options, pond slowly refills. And it snows.

Today it looked like they had a portable pump parked next to the blue gentian pond

Solid Day Thursday. Unmarked Mid / Low angle upper mountain trees still good coverage.

Beautiful groomed surface to start the day, became wind scoured as the day went on but still fine.

Upper mountain has some snow pack depth, lower mountain has very little snow. I wouldn't venture off piste below mid mountain.

I've seen trails open on less snow so maybe they are saving a few westside trails for the weekend?

The whales on Tali and Sorcerer kinda ruined the trails tbh. I know they have to wait to push them out but they were like yellow ice underneath a barely edgeable surface

We need a major dump.

I'd post more pics but I used to be able to just post pics from my phone. Now I have to resize, etc. Don't have time for that nonsense.

@NYDB You can no longer post directly from phone because pictures are too big ?

If so, while uploading, if you have iPhone, it only takes a second to click the options button and change file size to “large”. You can also review if you want to embed location info in your photo (eg I don’t include location info of screenshots I take at home, or photos from off-map trails, etc)

I have pictures Ive uploaded in the past here that I try to upload again (just testing) and can't because they are too big. So this sites photo uploader / handler changed at some point. I want to take large, rich detailed photos with the phone. If they need to be smaller to post then the site needs to reduce/resize as needed, as it used to do. I'm not changing the quality or size of my photos just to post to this site.

Whatever really. This site is basically Katz memes, a sugarbush thread and utah transplants bitching about crowds now.

Rumor has it they'll try. Sounded more like a "see if it still works" type thing. One could only imagine there will be some issues.
