Just saw the indie movie "The Vicious Kind" last night from a recommendation from a friend. She recommended it because it was filmed in CT. The dialogue seemed weak, but it was cool playing "do you know where that is?" while watching the film. From the credits, it was filmed in: Torrington, Thomaston, Canaan, Danbury, Winsted, New Milford, Wethersfield, Falls Village, and (obvious in the film) Norfolk. Thomaston=Country Grocer; Torrington=Sky Top Lanes... Wethersfield is the Berlin Tpk, IIRC... I guess one of the diners is in Falls Village... Not too often that you get movies filmed in these parts, but it was neat to see it.

Kewl --lots o fun to do that

We had an indie made in 2008 very near here about 35 miles that was up for 2 Academy Awards one for Melissa Leo for lead actress it 's called "Frozen River "

This is a very "dark genre film" about extreme poverty and and its grippinng impact on a few SIngle parent families one in particular and involves smuggling illegals as a source of income -- VERY WELL Done flick lots of places were easily identified ---- very REALISTIC in term of what is truly going on up here within the Native american community -- several protests and damn near censorship occureed when that community raised hell and a few local theatres would not show it .

Obviously we saw it in one of the college towns up here and were glad we didi it was gripping and dark and made you aware of circumstances that play our "sub rosa" everyday

Mr Deeds was filmed in New Milford too.
Yup. I splurged and spent the $3 to buy it from Big Lots because of that.

When I worked at City Hall, there was a movie filmed there one weekend but we never were told the name of it. I think they said it was a Japanese film crew but why the heck would they come to T-town to film?
