June 10th and I was already watching several scenes from Snow Gods and SnoWhat last night repeatedly.

*Sigh*

Then I got up and hugged my skis. This could be a loong off season.

Does anyone have a pilot's license and is looking to fly to Chile?

The official- post your despair and grieving- thread.

I'm doing pretty good. Been so busy around the house lately, I have no time to be depressed. The jones really kicks in around mid-August. If all goes well, we may only be 5 months from ski season...

I lovingly gathered up all my gear that had been drying since I stopped skiing end of April and stowed it all away. It was dry weeks ago but I still liked looking at it and saying "maybe a few more turns?". Put my liners back in my shells and put the boots in my travel bag. Fischer RX8's have been returned to Keith and I will pick up my new ones in November.

As dmc wrote, the Hunter snow patch is gone...winter is over.

The sadness and depression that occurs immediately after the end have been gone for weeks too. Packing my gear away yesterday actually felt good.

06/07 is over, here's to the arrival of 07/08!

OK, I got a plan that I've been planning on posting later, but what the hey, I'll do it now. I say we get together and ski Tuckerman Ravine aroung July 4th. I believe that there will be at least a small strip of snow left.

I watched "Impact" on Movieplex last night. My wife said "It's really hard to watch this in the summer time."

Monkey nuts. I've been staying plenty busy riding a lot, repairing sailboats, planting flowers and my garden, mowing, cleaning and other kinds of catching up, but the whole time I'm thinking about skiing. I think it will get better once I'm out sailing.

Went for a hike a Wachusett yesterday with my daughter, she saw the chairlifts and started talking about skiing. It's hard to explain to a 3.5 year old how long it will be until it snows again. :smash:

On another note, I've started converting some ski DVDs so I can watch them on my iPod on my commute (1+ hr train ride).

So you managed to finish off that first batch of homemake brew I see ... ;-)

No, but I'm getting scary close. When you're not paying for this stuff the same time you drink it, it seems to disappear very quickly.

The 22 oz bottles proly having something to do with that as well though...

I've got an idea for a collapsible catamaran that can be transported on a roof rack or (maybe) a side car on a bike. So far, I haven't found any good reason it can't work. Anyone want in on it?

Hell yeah, I'd be interested provided it doesn't collapse when you're sailing it.

Have you seen this thing? The paddle boat aspect of it is a little hokie, but it looks like you could have a lot of fun with it.

I've seen that. My friends and I have talked before about putting a dagger board in a kayak and flying a traction kite off the bow. That hobie is interesting, I agree, the paddle's a little hokie.

I'd rather have a Tiger.

Yeah, I saw it when trying to figure out what the smallest cat out there was. Trouble with it is that hull's not collapsable at all. Don't like boomless sails, either, but they are easy to stow.
