Berkshire East is probably rocking today...as is Magic I'm sure. My buddy said Mt. Snow was great early this am while he was out and he's heading back out this afternoon for the trees!

Noticed the "wax" in marcski's initial msg......think it's the way to go for any type of x-c, no matter how wide....
I picked up a pair of waxless? fishscaled S-Bounds(Fischer) a few years ago...and do they ever blow...talk about non-glide.
Is there something to be done to the waxless wonders or should I start looking for the real deals....?

My XC skis are backcountry Alpina's that also have fish scales under foot. I use this:

and this sometimes:

Definitely use something...it helps...even more for XC than DH.

For no-wax skis there's also Swix "Easy Glide", which I believe, based on the smell, is a petroleum-based compound. Looks like it's not the same thing as the universal wax below. I think its primary purpose is to prevent the clumping you get from wetter snow, but I have noticed it does help with gliding.

You think this is killing you? Imagine having the time & money to go but can't ski because of injury. I predict this will be the best spring in decades.

I hear ya steam, I can't even put any weight on my right leg for another few weeks and was looking out the window at 4 inches of new snow. It's killing me, the forecast looks to be winter temps here for the next week at least, last year it was 80 degrees.

Hang in there brother. You're in worse shape than me. The doc took the cast for my ankle off this week but I"m still using crutches to keep weight off the ankle (docs orders) & wear a moon boot. Been going to PT for my knee & exercising at home & while it's doing better it still doesn't feel good. I'm hoping once the ankle heals more aggressive weight training on the knee will help.

Yeah all this cold & snow is bumming me out. A day doesn't go by that I'm not wishing I could just hop in the car & go skiing. I'm sure you feel the same way. If not for the injury I could go away skiing for a few days pretty much any time I wanted. Just come home to check in with the wife on weekends

I went out on my BC gear yesterday without using my spray on was and REALLY regretted it. Had to walk the last 20 minutes because I got so fed up with the sticky snow. Had a great time before that, though.4-100_9186.jpg
