I enjoy watching talented people performing with tremendous skill, especially when it comes to musical performance.

You'd probably be interested in this DMC, knowing your passion for it:

Definately a big fan of both..

I tend to follow Gene Krupa more as far as style-- if thats even possible... Krupa was influence to MANY drummers in the 60's

Here's a slightly better version-

It's amazing isn't DMC, what they do with what some much less skilled drummers I know would call a "limited" or "small" setup? Snare, a few toms, single pedal bass, hat, ride, crash and I think Buddy had a China...? It is just a real pleasure watching those guys.

Thats the classic jazz kit setup right there.. Notice Buddys large floor tom is being used to hold a towel.. My uncle used to do the same thing with his 1930's Slingerland kit....
Keith Moon had a floor tom just for holding drinks...

Playing a small kit is pretty nice... I break my kit down for blues and jazz...

I've been using a standard 8,10,12 rack tom setup for a while.. With a 16" floor tom.

Ahhh, Slingerland vs. Ludwig. Back in the days before the Japanese took over the drum kit business.

Even then Yamaha was making a dent in the market.. Guys like Steve Gadd have been playing Yamaha for years... I like the Slingerland sound better then then Ludwig in that clip..
