I agree, wholeheartedly, ckofer. I was really interested in skiing this place and always was. Had a decent day two years ago, and then they really burned me on one day... But that was then and new management will come online I'm sure.

I gave them feedback and suggestions, like we all did in their last AZ Challenge, but they didn't seem to care about it. New management will be more open I'm sure and we can help them. Don't want to be  at them, just want to help them because the place was interesting  and I don't like being seen as  'cause I'm not.

I was looking at the trail map and they show a fair amount of glades. After several good trips to Ragged last year, I have started believing that developing more glades skiing should/could be the salvation to some areas. This needs to be done with a thoughtful forest management plan. If done well, it allows new challenges at when skiers of mixed abilities want to enjoy mountains together (read: my wife doesn't go in the woods but we meet at the lift).

The other thing that needs to be considered is: what do you do with those people that don't want to ski all day but the people they came with do? I see that Gunstock has wifi in the main lodge now. If you had enough building space, or if you could shuttle people to it, things like cooking lessons (or any other classes), ice rinks, casinos, & bars might keep families a bit more intrigued to go up as a group. I've seen the big village concept out west and that may be chancy around here. Some of this thinking is derived from the "spouses choices" stuff you find around business conventions/expos.
