I think Flutie's pass against Miami should be on there. I don't have a problem with any of the other moments on there (except #1), just the order they are in. Of course, I'm sure we could all find lots of other moments that could be considered worthy, depending upon our biases.

This also reminds me of a debate I heard a while back - I think it was after some SI list where they listed things like "McGwire/Sosa's Home Run Chase in 1998" as a "moment". It wasn't really a moment. The event lasted the entire season. Sure, it was a great happening in sports that warranted following, but a "moment"? Kirk Gibson's home run in 1988 was a moment. The Immaculate Reception and The Catch were moments. An undefeated season or a miracle run thru a month-long tournament are not moments.

Bo Jackson deserves his own category in talks like this. The guy was a human highlight film. Dominique Wilkins needs to formally turn that nickname over to Bo Jackson.

Obviously the 1980 Hockey game should be #1 on just about any list. Since I don't have much of a knowledge of sports from years ago, I have a top 5 of Boston's more recent events:

1. Red Sox 2004 Playoffs
2. Bobby Orr diving score to win Stanley Cup
3. Vinatieri's kicks in the 2001 NFL playoffs
4. Doug Flutie's desperation throw
5. Doug Flutie's drop kick against Miami

It is tough to define "moment" How long exactly is a moment? I included "The Drive" which could be construed as more than a single moment, but I think in this context, you could count it. Obviously, entire games don't count, otherwise I'd add "The Ice Bowl", "The Fog Bowl", "The Body-bag Game" and "The House of Pain Game"

the other thing, too, is we are very biased in America towards baseball, football and basketball. There has been hardly any talk of soccer/futbol, track and field, hockey or any other sports not as popular in the States. Having said that, I would add:

- Brandi Chastain's shootout goal in the 1999 women's World Cup
- Mary Lou Retton winning gold
- Kerri Strug's vault on the bad ankle
- Zola Budd tripping Mary Decker
- Nancy Kerrigan getting her knee bashed in (does this count, since it isn't technically a sport?)

just realized, too, that these are all women. Can't imagine there were many other females listed.
