Date(s) Skied: 2-28-2009

Resort or Ski Area: Blue Mountain Ski Area

Conditions: Frozen Solid Hardpack

Trip Report: I arrived at Blue a little after 8am and was on the snow before 8:30. First run was down Razor's Edge. Solid cord, which vibrated my legs nicely to loosen me up a bit. Lazy mile was next, major death cookies. I ran into GSS and AtomicSkier on my 3rd run and skied with them until around 10:30. We tempted fate with a high-speed run down Paradise, which was a lot of fun, probabily the softest snow on the mountain at time. Next run, we didn't fare as well, and GSS and AS got chased down by the Ski Police, but didn't get caught. I took some time today to take some pics with my new Canon 790IS. I'm very happy with it. I stayed until around 1 and did a total of 23 runs & 25940 vertical feet. My knee wasn't bothering me at all while I was on the mountain today, but I've noticed I'm holding back, as if I expect it to. It's a little sore now, but no where near as bad as a few weeks ago....Ok time for some pics

pics came out great. sooner or later i'll ski that place. i brought my daughter a new coat this year and there is was a ski blue for free tag attached to it. the only problem is i've already taken her out of school enough and you can't detached the tag from the coat or it's invalid. don't think the coat would fit and i don't feel like looking like a nancy boy going down the slopes. think i could just bring the jacket? anyway what's up with GSS and AS, their turning into the butch cassidy and the sundance kid of pennsylvania! guys? is there not a time you go there and joe johnny law isn't chasing you down? too funny! no pictures of that?

Wow, great pictures. Always wondered what the mountain looked like. Amazing that there in zero snow anywhere else surrounding the mountain....

You get used to that. At least it doesn't ski like wrod (for the most part)

The Canon SD790 was a super choice for a point and shoot. I'd highly recommend it.

Great Photo TR!!!!

now lets do a snowdance and hope Blue gets in on some of the East Coast Winter Storm action!!!

There's only natural snowcover at Blue part of the season, in a good ski season. The only winter I remember with natural snowpack on the ground the entire ski season was 1993-94..when Allentown received 75 inches...average is 28..
