Back from Blue, got up there by 8:30, on the lift by 8:50, cloudy with fairly fast moving upper deck cloud cover but no wind on the hill, 29 degrees and rising, and occasional sun bursts thru the clouds. First run was down Main Street, didn't appear groomed due to the lack of cord, but snow was semidry packed with some loose manmade parmisan and shavings. We noticed that the specialty being served up was about 3-4 inches of freshly made untracked snow on Barney's and that pretty much clinched it for the day. Aside from a run down Lazy mile, which had been groomed, and 2 solo runs down Raceway and 2 park runs for some micro air, we basically did a bump clinic on Barney's all day, which was a great workout. Popped into the bar for a hot choc and a Butterscotch schnapps with Jethro and the new cutie behind the bar for about 1/2 hour and headed back to Barney's. Weather warmed up into the upper 30's by 2PM when we called it a day with solid cloud cover rolling through from the west. Humidity was rising as well, but not a drop of rain. Moe was bustin out a sweat, underarmor, turtleneck, softshell was almost too much by noon. Very legit day in the Pokes.

Hey all,

I'm back from a fun RAW right after work session at Blue mountain. I'll keep this short and sweet...the snow was great..once again the best it's been this season and the least crowded as well. There were 100 cars max in the upper lot...including Rodney and his Boyz tailgaiting. They mentioned that the bumps were nice and Barneys bumps were mad steezy...they blew lots of snow on them so there were only a few icy spot but mostly nice snow. Lazy Mile was really good with only two big icy spots on the inside corners of the two turns..the ice was carvable but still slick. Lower Main Street was a little choppy..the best snow was on Raceway..it seemed like only a handfull of people skied it all day..smooth as all heezy and great for carving..I forgot how much speed I carry going into Midway..fa fa fa fast..woo hoo..I skied 13 runs in a little over 2 hours..temperatures were in the upper 30s...I ended up hitting up Grumpys for a few beers and some takeout BBQ..and none other than Rodney was there. It turns out he's been skiing for 42 seasons..totally legit..Now it's just starting to rain a little bit..I'll definitely be back at Blue tomorrow..only 3 more days until Challenge and the 6-pack open..serious stoke..

Finally got out and skied at Blue this Sunday. Place was a bit zoo-ish, especially with only the one side of the mountain open. Still, as usual Blue gets props for doing a lot with what mother nature gave them.

GSS and other Blue Mt regulars -- please talk some sense into the owners and get them to seed bumps on Challenge for the whole season. I just don't understand why we need challege and razor if they don't bump up one of them. two parallel trails with equal pitch.

Last season they seeded the bumps on Challenge once they got Razors open..where were you??? When Challenge is bumped up..it's just 50/50 which makes the bumps safer than the groomed because people whore every inch of the groomed..side to side..I ski with a 20+M turn radius ski but unless the trail is empty..I don't push them to the max..I'm leaving for Blue in 15 minutes..I'll post a report..I'm anxious to see how the snow held up after 60 hours of rain..

I did get a couple of days last year with challenge bumped up, but for some reason I remember the bumps appear pretty late in the season last year. I do remember being there in march and seeing freshly seeded bumps. Hopefully, bumps on challenge (and early on in the season) will become the norm.
