This weekend, we had celebrated Grandma's 86th birthday with some ribs on my Orion. Not my best ribs, but the pics came out real well. They were smoked with a combination of 50% Hickory / Apple wood.

Sorry Jeff. I wanted to post some AZ revenge for GSS's bacon meatloaf while I was stuck in class.

Ribs were banging!! We have just over 1/2 rack left. Enough for dinner tomorrow.

great looking ribs. those vertical racks allow you to smoke so much more wood.

Nice work! And nice smoker! I have an electric ElCheapoBrinkman...it gets the job done.

Good question! It actually gets pretty darn hot in there. There's no adjustment...plug it in and hope for the best. Outside temp effects things too. A round of Dizzy Pig wings(http://www.dizzypigbbq.com/recipesWings.html) takes me about 2 hours in the cooler months...about half the time in the summer.

I did part of a turkey on it last Christmas and that was a big hit.

The Dizzy Wings taste like they're fried...they really are good. They're easy to make on the electric smoker since you just need to plug it in and let the element to it's job.

Keep us posted on that Thanksgiving Turkey!

I think I have some pics of some previous smokes on my home machine.

There's a place called Grumpys in the country that has great pork ribs..a full rack is $23 and almost 4 pounds...I usually get a half rack and have trouble finishing it..
