Resort or Ski Area: Wildcat, NH

Conditions: Sunny, Spring Conditions

Trip Report: So today I made it up to Wildcat. I have to say, I love the retro vibe to the place, and the classic narrow New England ski trails. I arrived up there around 9:30am (I was flying from Waltham!) and skied to about 2ish, when it began to get very soft. I hit up every trail, for the most part, except one or two bumped along the lift line (Though I did hit the bumps a little!). I gotta say though the views from up top on wildcat are phenomenal. Now this isn't the type of place you will find a terrain park after terrain park (I didn't even see one here today), nor will you find an expensive base lodge with all the bells and whistles. No you get clean cut, retro skiing and riding in NH. So anyway here are some pics I snapped from today! Enjoy! PLus there is PLENTY of snow, and snow in the forecast they were saying too!

At the lot: Look at the snow still on the ground!

Great edge to edge coverage, no thin spots or nothing!

Looks pretty good. How long did it take to drive there from Waltham? Did you drive up 93 north?

I'd like to try that place out sometime, but it looks like a pretty long drive.

I went 95 to 16... 3 hours in change... It's really a great place, and a very cool laid back vibe. The trails are great, the snow was great... it was just great :) Also it was great seeing people parked up and down 16 and hiking to Tux.

Yikes. Already over flowing the over flow lot? :-o That is not something I like to see! Tis why I go for a proverbial alpine start when skiing over there during the spring!

Nice TR from the Cat! Its a great place for spring skiing.

Well let me rephrase this... It was great to see a lot of people out and about because of the great weather. But yeah it kinda sucked to see it so crowded as a result.

I checked the odometer. Just under 2 miles lined up on 16.

As for Wildcat, I've skied there many, many times and today may have been the best I've ever skied there. The combo of warm temps and tons of snow was remarkable. They'll be skiing into May, I have little question about that.

Wow, that looks pretty darn good! I think its even better than when I was skiing midweek before Martin Luther King Day.
