cbcbd mentioned a few trails around Old Mine Park and since I was going to be sitting around waiting for my daughter to finish up gymnastics at the YMCA a 1/2 mile away i figured i'd get in a quick ride.

Unfortunately i didn't memorize cbcbd's suggestions about the trail so i made the best of it. Found some single track off the rocky road. The 2nd half of the ride was very dark and i ended up losing sight of the trail. I made the best of it and eventually found my way back to the soccer field.

3.75 miles in about 45 minutes. a fair chunk was rail trail to/from the YMCA. need to go back when there is more light so i can do some exploring.

bike is good. shifting very well with the new rear derailleur. starting to not like the tires, i don't feel like they're gripping as well as i would like. thinking more and more about going clipless.

Glad to hear shifting is finally smooth. Those Bontrager tires effin blow. I just ditched mine for some Moto Raptors. Heavier and more rolling resistance, but way better grip. These will get me through the fall. I plan to put some Kenda Nevegal Stick-Es on the bike next year. For trail riding, clipless is the only way to go. Much better pedaling efficiency.
