Total Distance: 7.6 miles 3000 vertical feet
Difficulty: Auto Road (easy), Alpine Garden (moderately easy), Tuckerman Ravine Trail (difficult), Tuckerman Cutoff (easy), Crawford Trail (Moderate)
Conditions: Sunny and 60 to the east of the summit cone with an undercast, Foggy and 50 to the west of the summit with 20 kts winds
Special Required Equipment: Camera
Trip Report: An excellent loop from the top of mount washington. Very fun. Walked from the top of the summit to the 6 mile stretch and turned up the alpine garden trail. Walked along between the summit snow fields (no snow just their names) and hun. ravine. Excellent views from the top of the ravine. Followed alpine garden to the junction of tucks where I decended to the base of the ravine. There is about 100 yards by 10 yards of snow that is undercut in the base of tucks, up right gully. Enough for snowballs but not for skiing. Very neat to see snow this time of the year. Pictures to follow when I get home. Back up the ravine trail, very hard going and over to lake of the clouds hut. Snagged some soup from the lakes people, they are awesome over there. And then back up crawford to the summit. Very fun hike and was neat to see the undercast part of the time.
