I had an opportunity to scoop these skis from a guy who opted for a true GS race skis (Volkl's Race Tiger). He saw these SS 182's as duplicate duty and wanted to get out of them.
I have the same ski in a 175...and always wondered if I should gone bigger.
I hated them.
I will start by saying...that Marker Motion Binding is super easy to adjust! No tools! Flick a small lever...dial up our boot length (make sure the DIN is in range) and push that lever back in. 15 seconds!
I'm certain these 182's are terrific skis for someone...on a big mountain. But @ Wachusett....I was completely out of my comfort zone. I couldn't get them to flex unless I was really hauling. So as I cruised to the headwalls with all the other skiers...I found myself picking up the inside ski since I couldn't get it to flex at the slower speeds.
I took two runs and put them back in Ski Watch...and put my 175's back on. I absolutley LOVE that ski in the 175. For me, it's extremely versatile. I can just cruise, or I can really arc them out and get some huge power. I also can ski two-footed, alter the radius of my turns...react much faster (missed I guy who fell right in front of me two years ago). TOTAL CONFIDENCE!
So.....I just thought I'd share.
Anyone interested in that 182...I can get you linked ( sky@mountdozer.com ) . We never discussed price. They were in absolutely fabulous shape...like new! I saw a demo pair @ that length on E-Bay for $300.
