While not at Irene levels, lots of flooding in VT the last few days.

I saw this pictured posted this morning on FB by one of my friends who is a member of a VT 1st responders page. Right at the base of the Okemo Access Rd with route 100 somewhere underneath all that debris!

Similar photos online from the Killington/Skyeship Base/East Mtn Rd a few days ago 😳😳FB_IMG_1688992275248.jpg

My Nephew is hiking the long trail this month. Started right after the 4th and needless to say it has not been good weather. Just bad luck as far as the timing of it.

This will be at Irene levels for many unfortunately. A drone shot is Londonderry. Other is Rt 100 in Weston.

The Ludlow down to Wardsboro corridor along 100 seems to have taken the worst of it in Southern VT. A friend of mine, who is a yera round Mount Snow employee posted in a group text thread I am part of that after driving from Wilmgton up to Mount Snow this morning, that the water has receeded "many feet" and that damage in the area is fairly minimal and appears from what he saw to be more along the lines of cleaning up a bunch of mud, and doing some occasional roadside drainage basin work.

Hope the area up by Winooski/Montpelier fairs OK, as the fears last night as to what the crest could be had some major damage implications for sure

That might take some time to buff out….
The thing is that if the Feds just get out of the way of the locals, like happened in many instances after Irene,, the local contrators will get things safely rebuilt quite quickly. There is a ton of pride behind all of those "VT Strong" stickers that you see on so many Green license plate vehicles and businesses

Buddy snapped this one of the park and ride in Richmond, VT. The Winooski is typically contained beyond the tree line in the distance.
