$4.07 this morning....all my audi/vw's havent been bad on mtce, nothing major...will replace my audi with another or a subie....the volvo wagon xc70 is great, when that lease is up might head over to the minivan segment (wife's car) more room, throw on some dedicated snows....

I think Long Island has the most expensive gas in the US...I paid $3.75 yesterday and that might be the cheapest it will be for awhile..

I drove 925 the past 2 days...I felt it in the wallet. Saw Diesel as high as 5.09.

Any updates on how the Tiguan is holding up?

My car search is starting to go all over the place...even though I'm still thinking a lot about pulling the trigger on an Infiniti G37x, I test drove a few compact SUV/crossover vehicles as a lower cost alternative...

There is a lot of Volkswagen mis-information in this thread. Among other things....

The Passat has been on the Consumer Reports recommended list several times over the last decade.

Mexican VWs are junk. That's most of the MK IV Jettas and Golfs. The MK IV Jetta wagon came from Germany. The GTI was brought in either from Germany or Brazil. Those all had better build quality.

The mechanicals on VWs tend to be very strong. It's unusual to have engine or transmission issues. They have been more prone to electrical system issues. The Bosch coil pack debacle that hit all Audis and the turbo and V6 Volkswagens was the worst problem.

The quality of the VW dealer network is all over the place. Your overall reliability tends to be fairly closely tied to the quality of the service the car is given.
