Conditions: Mainly packed powder... more scraped as more people flooded in
Trip Report:
Took my first trip in over 3 weeks to Wachusett today. I had a half day at school which meant I got out at 11:10 and after a few stops, I arrived at Wachusett at about 12:15. I swear I was the youngest person there lol. Not much in terms of a crowd, but once the school groups started coming in the lines got longer.
Conifer: Most of the trail was nice packed powder with some articifial powder early on, but got pretty scraped as night came in. All kinds of whales and stuff from the snowmaking. Polar Express was running in 3/4 speed which included a ride through the 10th snowmaking which wasn't too bad... riding Minuteman when they're making the park is much worse.
Ralph's: Not even half covered and full of whales and frankensnow, but really not too bad.
Challenger: Best of the 3 Minuteman trails, most of it was good packed powder instead of frankensnow. They also groomed it around 2 PM, the only trail to recieve grooming this afternoon.
Look Ma: Frankensnow at the top, but they didn't even make snoe at the bottom so it was fast hardpack down there. Minuteman about in normal speed.
I'll be back tomorrow night. All they need to do is make it through the 40s tomorrow and the short rainstorm Saturday morning as we finally get a winter storm Sunday night after all the waiting.
