Skied full day at Wachusett today, for the first time in two years. Conditions were somewhat bipolar. In general it was pretty icy, but there were some awesome pow stashes on Conifer. Mostly skied Conifer, 10th Mountain, Balance Rock, and Hitchcock, as Smith Walton was closed most of the day for racing. Obviously nothing was too hard, but the unmarked glades between Roper's Road and Balance Rock presented somewhat of a challenge because of the unmarked conditions. Lift lines were long, but the fact that 3/4 lifts there are high speed quads made up for it. All in all, it was a fun day, but if i could have made it up to NH, I would've rather been there instead. Will say though that the unmarked glades I skied seemed like they would be a hell of a lot of fun if the snow was in.
