Resort or Ski Area: Wachusett

Conditions: Wet, soft, corn

Trip Report: As this weekend was solidly booked, I couldn't take advantage of the nice conditions on Saturday. But I did manage to get out to Wachusett for the last hour and half of operations. Skied, Tenth, Smith, Conifer, Frannie's and Challenger. All in all, considering the conditions during the day, the mass snow melt, and the really nasty tempts... it was well, time on the hill. I did take the bumps on Frannie's as they were soft and well.. I wanted to thurst myself into them as many people here mentioned. I survived, it was ugly, but somewhat addicting. I need to really get myself in shape next season, if I am determined to do the bumps...

With April 1st being the date for pond skimming, I don't know how on earth they will make it until then ... I would be surprised if they make it into next week... All in all, I am happy I made it out one last time to Wa this season. Hope for one more day with them, but with 70's in the forecast... It remains to be seen.

I was there on Saturday night. It was still cold, so the conditions were a little icy, but it was possible to get a good carve. Started out thinking this isn't that fun, but once I got adjusted to the conditions, it was a blast.

Temperatures look brutal this week. I think the snow may disappear pretty fast. Hope I can get out there one last time. Feels like the season just started, so hard to believe it's almost over already.

I was there until about 1. It was pretty firm first thing but softened up nicely. Took 7 runs down each (conifer, 10th, smith) and split. Fastest 20k vert I've ever racked up. Saw some kid bite it hard on 10th @ speed and slide right off the trail and into the snowmaking pipes.

Weird thing I noticed on alpine replay...only get 750-850 vert off each run at wachusett. Doesn't look like they will make it past this weekend, even know their website says another month.

Thanks for the report. I was hoping to go there tomorrow morning, but their site says they won't open until noon. :(

It's going to be tough to squeeze another one in, but I remain hopeful.
