What a great day. First off, I got there way later than expected. Let's just say we had a long party night on Saturday and took me a while to roll out of bed on Sunday
Anyway, I found a friend of mine (who hasn't skid at all this year) to come along with me, but I had to swing by his house to pick up his skis first since he was at a bachelor party in Worcester the night before ( surprised he even made it up in the morning!)
Got to the mountain right before 1PM. The pond skimming competition was already over and I had missed it, but luckily most people were on the deck drinking and listening to the band so the lift lines were very, very quick. Normally less than one minute.
Here's people partying it up
First run of the day: my friend loses his ski getting onto the lift
(btw: there'st hat Dynastar monoski sitting next to us... I think he may have been an AZ'er!)
Snow was great, plenty of coverage, definitely slush in the flatter areas but all in all very ski-able and fun.
Couldn't have asked for a better day. I skid in ski pants, a t-shirt, a jacket, baseball cap & sunglasses, no gloves. It was just beautiful, and barely a cloud in the sky.
Here's a pick of the busted skim pond:
Some nice (but slushy) moguls:
Apparently it was warm enough for this guy to snowboard without a shirt on (on the right)
And here's a pic of yours truly
... the hat backwards keeps it from blowing off at full speed
