Will reopen as soon as everything is ready to go on the mountain, hopefully by tomorrow so we can enjoy the new snow.

I don't know about the ski trails, but there are plenty of hiking trails to the top.

Taken from Wa's email update:

After the devastation to the area and five days disrupted operations, power was restored to the ski area on Tuesday, December 16. We are planning to reopen for skiing and riding on Wednesday, December 17. We will definitely be open for regular day operations and will be assessing the damage to our lighting system to see how much night skiing is possible. We know you are anxious to get back out on the slopes and we look forward to having you back.

During the aftermath of the storm, our staff worked closely with the utility companies and the towns of Princeton and Westminster to help return service to the region. Our crews and equipment helped clear the local roads so emergency workers could travel safely and begin the recovery process. Our food and beverage department helped provide food for local residents and emergency workers at the Thomas Prince School shelter in Princeton. The Wachusett Village Inn in Westminster was also designated as a command post for National Grid workers in the region.

On behalf of the entire staff at Wachusett Mountain Ski Area, we appreciate your support and patience during this time. The trails and snow conditions are in good shape but there is still some work to be done. We have numerous requests from customers on how they can help. For anyone interested in volunteering, we are organizing work parties to meet in front of the Ski Patrol Building on Saturday, December 20 and Sunday, December 21 at 7:30 a.m. for instructions. Bring a helmet, work boots and gloves and chain saws.

They did stay open for night skiing tonight. Only Challenger was dark when I left. There were a few noticible lights that were damaged but not bad enough to shut down.
