Area skied: Wachusett Mountain Massachusetts
Date skied: November 24th from 5:45pm - 8:15pm
Surface conditions: Packed powder, hardpacked
Weather: cloudy, 33F (base), 28F (summit)
Deja-vu for Warren and I as he came home from school wanting to ski and the forecast for the next two days look's more conducive to kayaking than skiing, so off we went.
Wachusett was in good shape today with the addition of 10th Mountain top to bottom from the summit. This trail skied okay with a slick start and a mix of loose granular/packed powder most of the way down
A snowboarder did not heed the closed trail sign on Salamander Cutoff and jumped over one of the snowmaking whales and got stuck/injured in the soft front side. Ski patrol was taking him down the trail on a sled when we where overhead on the lift.
Connifer Connection skied much better than yesterday and had more packed powder most of the way down and we skied it 3 times. Challenger was still the trail of the day with Ralph's Run being in better shape than yesterday.
Overall the mountain was very quiet and we skied on to every lift this evening.
It started to rain for a bit on I-90 during the drive home and it's up to 40F here, so it's too warm for snow at this point.
