I wonder what the extent of his injuries were. I took a couple of painful diggers off of the 15 meter at my High School. Because of them, I never got the balls to go off the 30 meter on jumping skis. I did go off it on regular downhill skis on a couple of occasions though.

I'm guessing that's 90 meter hill. Definitely a brutal accident.

Did anybody stop to check on you?

Austin did stop and collect some possessions I discarded. Then I had to lie with my head downhill for a bit so I didn't pass out.

Then I had to lie about almost passing out to the patrollers so they wouldn't freak out. Then they yelled at me for having no apparent reason to by lying on the side of the trail.

My fricken wrist still hurts a little bit.

I poked around for articles (not a huge effort) but they wrote mostly about his head trauma and that they induced him into a coma for a while.

those 2 jumps at Lake Placid are very awe inspiring. They're actually right next to where Iceman did ramp camp this summer. I could never see myself going off one of them

and not the place to be during a thunderstorm

My High School Nordic Jumping coach, Toby Sprague, was a former jumper and Olympic Judge. I think the last Olympics he did was Nagano. Three times he was up on one of those jumps when they got hit by lightning! He was lucky and only got minor shocks from each event.

Yeah I have been to the top of those jumps at LP and you couldn't pay me enought to do that. I also was there in the summer and saw the kids at ramp camp bombing into the pool. Very cool!

When on top of the big jump, try not to look down when walking to the start of the ramp.... Just metal grating....Scared me more than looking down the ramp of the jump (maybe 'cause I could never even imagine myself doing it).
