When : Started Fri ended tonite

Where : Gore Mtn: Fri - Sun and Mon
West Mtn - Sat and Titus Mtn yesterday and today

Conditions : All Blubird great conditions pp and pow EXCEPTSaturday at West which was a windblown horror show

My son and his family and the Queen and i met up for our annual Prez week road show . We stayed in a really nice suite motel with all the amenities and near good shopping for the ladies

Ok so the good news is Gore is fabulous. We skied first chair to closing bell all 3 days there .They opened up their Ninth side on 4 mountains this weekend -- it is impressive and the lift system quickly handles huge crowds and dispersed them so that skiing was ski ON BOTH DAYS . All areas interconnect and you can get the full 2500 plus vert and have a great day of skiing

Damn this mtn now has stuff for everyone : over 2500 vertical ,19 glades on 4 mtns , lots of steeps , long steady fall line cruisers , gentle cruisers which table down the mountain and bumps and natural trails . If you aren't satisfied here you are in the minority . I saw nothing but smiling faces and happy campers on Fri Sun and Monday there . Looks like North Creek is on the cusp of really making it . Lots of outside $$ and development starting there

Many new tower guns handle any snowmaking . Attached are a few photos

Jpeg 12 is at the summit of Gore looking down on the the top of Bear mtn Gondola station , 14 is the Top of Gore looking North east toward Whiteface, #17 is Top of Bear Mtn near the gondi station looking up at the Top of Gore with 'The Rumor and Lies " steep suckers i did Lies several runs and my grandson and his dad hit them all . #18 is on Twister a great cruiser on Bear looking out east toward i think Kton in the background, and #19 is Twister at another location. Several favs this trip included Uncas , Pine Knot, Lies. Hawkeye, Twister , Showcase , Sleighride and several others on the High Peaks chair

West on Saturday was hosting the NYS Hs championships it was AWFUL , Icy , scraped off , nasty ass . we only skied about 4 hrs because it was gusting 40-45 mph. My son got hit in a collision , he's fine but was bruised up .

Then on the way home we stopped for 2 days at Titus , yesterday and today to ski with friends there and had another 2 days of blubird high speed turns . All in all a great consecutive 6 days of skiing not bad for an old fart :D

Nice, looks like a good time was had. Haven't been to Gore in nearly a decade, but it was one of my favorite places to ski. It's certainly expanded since my last time there.

Great Great Great!

" windblown horror show " - Translation" "you've never seen it as bad as I've seen it"

can't beat bell-to-bell days!

Any collision you can walk away from is OK by me. Hope he's alright later.

thanks for the report. 'specially on Gore and Titus. Gotta get 'em someday. What went wrong at West? I thought they got the dreaded Ontario lake effect, no?

Hey, and keep your farts to yerself. I'm sure your company wouldn't appreciate it! ;)

Bill: West as a mtn is fine except saturday they had huge gusting and the day before it was 61 preceded by another bunch of warming and the combo of that plus no fresh stuff and no guns and a huge crowd for the state championship racing was producing windblown ice sheets that were impossible to edge . So several trails we skied have a double fault line and the mtn had shut down several trails forcing most to ski the SAME trails all day -- Got the picture ?

It was fun for awhile but after 4 hrs the fun was done

looks great

gotta do a NY run one of these years to check out Gore/Whiteface

Watch the weather. This may be the year. The snow is adding up and the slides should open in a few weeks. You could do a LP trip on the cheap. I have some cheap tickets I could sell you and the hotels in March are all fighting for the few customers. You could probably go to the mirror lake inn for 100 bucks a night. The high peaks resort will be in the 90 dollar range and a slew of other ones you could pick up for less than that. The Pines Inn is my choice for the cheap spot. All the rooms have been done over in the past six years and the place feels like your house when you are there.
