My oldest son (bass player) was a huge Rush fan. I took him to see them in the mid-90's.

No local music for me this weekend...but next weekeend, maybe. Heart is at Meadowbrook on Friday night and Maroon 5 is there on Saturday. I have a crush on Adam Levine. : - )

Adam Levine is a Phish phan... :)

Heart kicks ass - still... We splice the end jam from Magic Man into the end "Aeroplane" by RHCPs in my band... I love it when people recognize it... haha...

Front row tomorrow night for Widespread Panic.

Might swing over to Cambridge after to check out Otis Grove to finish out the night. They're very similar to Soulive

dmc - where do you stack the drumming of Neil in terms of rock drumming?

Neil is a super talented drummer. He not outrageous.. Is very tasteful.. He moves around the set very fluidly. And can play the shti out off odd meters.. Plays not only to the bass but the guitar and vocals - kinda like Keith Moon did.. He draws a lot from other players(Moon,Bonham,Bruford, etc..).. I actually still play stuff I stole from him when I was learning..

I'm an early fan of RUSH. I stopped listening when the keyboards got out of control - I noticed Neil kinda leveling off with his playing. And even he admits it - he recently took lessons!!!! and supposedly he's off the charts again... It's a lot of the reason I'm going tonight. This is my summer of reinventing myself on the drums..

Check out - drum track only from XXZ... He's great!
