I gotta go with December. Ski areas start kicking it into high gear, the first big storms of the season arrive, and Christmas.

2nd is October. I love the nice crisp mornings which are welcome after the hot summer. Nothing like waking up in the 30s, warming to the upper 50s, and then dropping back down for some nice frost (although it sucks scraping it).

march hands down. it starts warming up a tad, days start getting longer, the snow depths are at their deepest, and march usually brings a few killer storms. i never can get out enough during march. april is a close second due to corn snow, perfect bumps, and is usually when tucks is primed with a generally low avi risk unless somw weird weather rolls in. october is a close runner up due to crisp cool air, leaves changing, and all the wonderful feelings the fall always. brings.

i could probably say some great things about all months except june through september which really have no redeaming qualities in my mind.

I struggled choosing between October and February, but went with October. I love fall and the anticipation of the upcoming ski season is almost as exciting as being in the heart of it.

I picked October too, for the same reason as Greg. Even when I wasn't skiing I loved the anticipation that winter was coming, I've always loved winter! :) Plus fall is nice with all the colors and such...

I love February - some of the best snow of the season and it's my bday. Granted it may get a little cold sometimes but it's worth it.

I have to go with September as well. Cooler weather, a taste of winter, lingering summer, foliage, no bugs, great hiking, the Sox haven't choked yet, soccer/football/x-country seasons start... sigh...

October

Baseball play-offs, football.

There is nothing like hiking all day and catching a game that night at the local pub.

Plus Halloween.

Mr. Unpopular here - :x

May is hands-down the best month of the year. The weather finally warms up permanently, there's no more threat of snow, the grass greens up and the flowers come out, and camping/hiking season is just around the corner. And then there's my annual golf trip to South Carolina, which is a whole other story.

With all due respect to everyone else, by April, I am SICK of snow and cold and dark, and just want some warm weather. I miss sitting on my patio on a perfect spring evening with friends & family doing the bar-be-cue thing. When I am on a pair of skis, I am in heaven. But cold is cold and dark is dark. Gimme daylight savings time and 75*F anyday..... :D

I don't think I want to ski with you anymore... I can see past differences in politics, but this is ridiculous! ;)

TES-TI-FY Brother! Praise the moving of the clocks! Yeay-ah! :D Seriously, June is my second favorite month, mostly because my b-day falls right on one of the longest days of the year. I'm with you on being sick of the dark. I stinks leaving for work before sunrise and getting home after sunset.
