Some cool pics from WWI can be found here. There seems to be some debate as to weather or not the pictures are digitally colorized or original. It seems that the French did take color photos of their troops during WWI. I think the color quality is too good to be original (old) technology. None the less the pictures are real cool, enjoy!

I'm with you except it's possible they have been colorized by hand. This technique is still used today and once you get the hang of it produces similar and amazing results.

If those weren't shot with color film, then someone did an amazing job coloring. If they're colorized, then most of them have to have been done digitally. Interesting pics- war is, in fact, hell.
