I guess its my turn to throw a punch at the K.I lost count over 70 of the trails closed today at Killington. Is this just because of the thaw freeze cycle right now or have they lost a lot of trail coverage already?

Freeze/Thaw issues mostly. Most should be good to go by Sunday

I sure hope so! I'm going to be at the Beast with the kids and another of my good Mount Snow friends and his daughter for the Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge qualifier tommorrow.

If it's rather "un beastly" after the kids finish their race, well then the Dad's might be checking out the Umbrella Bar while the kids lap Superstar ;)

Please don't call it "The Beast". That has to be one of the worst marketing campaigns ever.

They weren't able to get out and groom the woods last night because the mini-groomer was broken and in the shop. It should be ready soon though and they'll be refinishing favorites such as Low Rider, Anarchy, and Devil's Den.

I saw them drive the mini out of the shop at about 1 PM when getting on the Snowden Quad. Trail count will increase for Sat I am sure. 2" of fresh last night helped. Any natural snow trail along with some of the snowmaking trails were not groomed/open today. Lower Skylark was not groomed, but was open and we did not place it in the do over column.

I was there friday and a little disappointed with all the closed trails, not much they could do I guess given the thaw/freeze and rain thursday night. They did open some trails towards the end of the day but when 5 runs I try and ski are closed for various reasons it got to be a little frustrating with all the unnecessary traversing.
