Doesn't that give you gas? ;) My mom went on a tirade one day about Fiber One granola bars and how she can't eat them anymore because they make her too gassy. My sister chimed in. I wished I wasn't there to hear it.

I have my days, but over all it isn't bad. If I don't get 25-20 grams of fiber a day there are a lot more painful things than gas that I have to deal with.

We have a lot of Kashi in the house (granola bars, cereal, waffles, etc.) which helps with fiber--especially if you get that Good Friends one (or whatever it was). I used to laugh about how they advertised that it was full of twigs.

I really wish I liked eggs...but I don't. It's a very rare occasion when I crave them and when that happens, I figure it's because my body is really missing something. I'll eat them scrambled maybe once every five years or so.

I buy quart cardboard milk cartons of store brand Eggbeaters. The Market Basket chain in eastern Mass and southern NH has them for $3.50-ish so I'll buy them a dozen at a time and put them in my chest freezer in the basement. I do 1 cup of eggwhite in a skillet, salt, swirl, add some cheddar, add some veggies & salsa. Frozen chopped spinach if I don't have anything fresh on hand. It gets me my 25g of protein for the morning without a lot of calories other than the cheddar. With cereal, I get the junk carb hit and then crash a couple of hours later. I try to get as much of my carbs from sources where my body has to work at it to digest it so the sugar delivery is more regulated. Beer is my only downfall but that's usually only a couple or three times per week.

Sorry but I have an image of you and your broken butt wishing you'd eaten more bran.

Can't get the image out of my head.

I did not experience the following phenomenon. But the doctor asked if I had pain while passing stool after my tailbone issue. Smooth sailing for me
