a lot of people opted not to hike this weekend cause of the recent super dumping of snow. For those who did go a lot didn't make their goals and turned back early. By next weekend most of the trails (up in the whites anyways) should be broken so the volume is going to increase.

The trail breaks were very difficult this weekend!!!!!!!! Believe me :)

Yep, heading up Moriah was tough this weekend, but we made it. I'll have a trip report up tomorrow night

I've got some TR's to post; a bit of a backlog, actually! I'm finally catching up and hope to get them on today.

The snow was, indeed, wonderful!

EDIT: oh, right, I didn't *write* the TR's for the last several hikes I've been on, so I can't just repost them. I'll have to nag my partner. :D

In the interim, though, here are the pics (they tell thousands of words, right?)

South and Middle Carter
Carrigain
Cascade and Porter after the snowstorm

Awesome. I'm planing on going up to the whites on Wednesday.

Looking for something that will most likely be broken out that has views. Was thinking of Pierce, (Clay) and possibly Eisenhower via Crawford path.

What do you guys think?

I would definitely expect the Crawford Path to be broken out to Pierce by now. Probably to Eisenhower as well, though given the wind I'd expect a lot of reforming of drifts every day. Once you get above treeline the snow is likely to be solidly packed by the wind or blown away entirely.

Getting all the way over to Clay could be a challenge, though. You didn't mention Monroe; were you thinking of some other peak? Did you mean to say Pierce (Clinton) instead?
