Last year I hit Whiteface first for a change. I normaly hit Hunter but wanted a bigger run. Thinking of doing the same this year. So where are you going?

It will be Hunter...the extra 2 1/2 to 5 hours to the NE resorts isn't worth it to get one more run than Hunter has open to ski at that point in the season.

Belleayre or Hunter whoever opens first. I hope it is hunter because HBK is way better than onteroria for opening day.

I know Whiteface is a haul but the run they open is huge compared to Hellgate. And it's a really nice area to spend a day or two.

Mt. Snow if they're open on Vets Weekend. If not I'll wait till Thanksgiving which wil be Wachusett (if they're open) or another attempt at Snow.

Probably a day trip to Wachusett. We're willing to drive there for the white ribbon of death but would probably not drive 3+ hours for one or two trails. Good weather and snow that allowed places to get some significant terrain open could change that. I'm hoping for an early season weekend trip.

I like to hit at least 3 opening days each season and a few closing days as well..it's just one of the pleasures of the sport..If I could bottle the feeling I get driving up to Belleayre or Okemo or Killington or wherever for my first day of the season..I'd be a billionaire..

Most likely Mt. Washington sometime in Oct. for an awesome auto road sufferfest. Maybe a slighter less painful Cog sufferfest if there is enough snow on that side. You know you want to join in...

Wachusett, they usually open by T-day if the weather cooperates. Maybe something else earlier if the stars align.

I'll probably use my Maine pass and hit SR first. I can't wait that long though. I want to ski now!!! Where's the snow? Did anyone start the Columbus day storm thread yet? :snow:
