i have the urge to take an adult advanced lesson. i'd taken a few several years ago @ Okemo when i was first getting back into skiing after some time off. I enjoyed the sessions and still remember a few of the tips, which i try to use whenever i ski.

Which mountains have a reputation for good adult lessons? I'd go back to Okemo without hesitation but if there is a better place i'm always looking for an excuse to go somewhere new.

What worked great for me was i'd signed up for the adult group lessons and each time been the only student so i got a private for the cost of a group. :-D

As a general rule i'd prefer to stay within 4 hours of south CT so Sugarbush or anything south would be the geographic range i'd want to stick to.

I few years ago, I took a advanced lesson at Killington. There were 6 of us in the group and the focus was on carving. Still find that lesson helpful today.

What do you want to get better at?

That's where I'd start.

You're a pretty darn solid skier Gary. I'd be more looking towards a particular skiing discipline as opposed to a 'general advanced lesson for adults'

It's the instructor, not the resort that makes a difference. There are great instructors at all resorts. They hard part is finding them. Target an area(s) and ask around for references. One idea if you don't know anyone is to call a nearby ski shop and see who they recommend. It's too bad we don't have a "rate my ski instructor" web site.

IMO you will get 3x more out of a private than a group in 1/3 the time. You know that - just pick the time of day when it's unlikely you'll get a 'group'.

No, but I know you can book him. Might be more as a guide than instructor. Someone here did it a year or two ago. Maybe Beano?

You're right. It's not a lesson, it's an "experience." : - )

For that once in a lifetime very special experience, ski with famous extreme skier and Sugarbush Legend - John Egan!

All ages, all abilities

Please add $25 for each additional person.

Reservations Required. Call 888-651-4827 or email us at skiandrideschool@sugarbush.com.

(I booked Dan to come and speak at my Rotary. : - )

Not to hijack the thread but I guess that is who Egan's woods at SB is named after? Me and my son had a lot of fun in that glade last year.

Yup, Dan and John Egan. Were in a lot of 80's and early 90's ski movies.
