Well, here is this year's version of this thread. Standard venues for me again this season:

Definites:
  • Sundown (pass)
  • Hunter
  • Berkshire East
  • Magic
  • Mount Snow
  • Sugarbush
  • Mad River Glen
  • Killington
  • Whiteface (it alluded me last season)
Maybes:
  • Gore
  • Sugarloaf
  • Burke
You?

Definites:

Mt. Washington
Chic Chocs
Wildcat (always end up with a few days)
Cannon (so much closer than any other big mountains that I'm bound to make it here a few times)

Maybes:
Stowe (If I get a season pass)
MRG (If I don't get a Stowe pass)
Burke (probably a day or two again if I don't get a Stowe pass)
Wachusett (If I get pass again, not sure if I will though)
Sundown (bump comp)
Jay (If I don't get a Stowe pass)
Mt. Snow (early season bumps)

So yeah, if I get a Stowe pass it will basically be Stowe + touring. If I don't get a Stowe pass it will be a bit more random because I won't have a season passes to a NNE mountain.

* MRG leads to an intersting question for me. I have a friend who keeps telling me that I have to hit MRG on my next trip, yet it comes together for us when I'm out there. If I make it a point of doing it, how easy will it be to get one of you to show me around, if my friend doesn't come through?

Honestly, unlike many areas such as Stowe where the goods are off the map, you really don't need a guide at MRG. I'm not saying there isn't plenty of off map oppotunity at MRG because there is, but you really don't need to know those places. Pretty much ride the single and head in any direction, the whole place is sick.

You'll probably find someone here. In any event, the on map stuff is not that expansive, but it will take a full day to hit all the major runs. The off map stuff is endless and I've only scratched the surface.

Let me rephrase:
Any chance of hooking up with someone for some turns at MRG just in case I end up hitting it alone!?

I would offer but your ability far exceeds mine. :D
Honey, if you wanna meet up with me at MRG, I'll be happy to chill!
Smooth cruising turns can be a part of my ski day, as well as over my head stuff that makes me say OH chit!
You know, we Apres' Skied together just fine!

I bet what would work out well is a gathering - so everybody can find somebody to ski with at their ability. So you can cruise and take on the hard stuff, too, without going it alone. :) I really wanted to get to MRG this past season but it didn't work out. I'd like to next season but I have to prioritize. Getting back to A-basin is actually a higher priority for me right now.

Stowe - We have friends there and usually spend at least a week and probably a weekend or two.
Sugarbush - Went last year as part of a Stowe trip. Will go back.
Berkshire East - Our favorite "day trippable" destination if conditions are good.
Wachusett - Location, location, location.
Mt. Snow - Visited last year and enjoyed it. Long day trip though.
Probably a trip West, though given what's happening with fuel and airline prices this could be the year we decide it's too expensive and do a second week in the Northeast.
