reading the 2-fers thread about billski's quest to ski all of New England's ski areas, it reminded me of an event we did as kids. Where I live we have 4 ski areas whithin a 25 mile radius. Albeit they are small, they still have snow, lifts and everything you need to go down da hill. One day we decided to ski them all in the same day. We hit Greek Peak, Song Mnt, Labrador Mnt, and Toggenburg in the same day. All I really remeber was it was a long day and a ton of fun.

How many diff places have you hit???

This is a pipe dream but....

I always have my eye out for interesting pieces of property in VT. Wifey also wants me to look in the Ithaca area as well. If we were to be lucky enough to buy a second home up near Ithaca it would have to be somewhere between downtown Ithaca and Greek Peak. VT would be my first choice for skiing reasons. But being able to visit Tompkins County year round and having a skiing option is enticing. Like I said, pipe dream...

Nice thing about dreams is that sometimes they come true!!!! Nice area you're looking at (both that is), best of both worlds. Skiing and lakes---good combo.

I haven't hit 4. But when I was in school I skied all day at Sugarloaf and then hit Eaton Mt in Skowhegan for night skiing on the way home. Those day/night ski trips really knock you out.

That would be fun in the Catskills. Windham, Hunter, Plattekill, Belleayre are all close enough to hit up in one day.

You need to remeber this was in the 70's----we had passes at Greek, got free passes to Lab, and bought 4 hr tickets to the others for 8 bucks each. Granted it took us 2 weeks of shoveling driveways to save the $16, but it was worth it.

I conspired to, but never pulled off, the "Road trip from Hell". Ski all the ASC East resorts in one day. (I think my wife would have goten a section 12 on me.)

I skied Temple and the Crotch in one day, and Crotched and Onset in one day, but that was it.

Well... this probably doesn't count, but....

This past season, hit Crotched's midnight madness on a Friday night, skied until about 2 a.m. on Saturday morning, then skied night at Wachusett that same Saturday. So... technically... both the Crotch and WaWa on Saturday... but, as I said, kind of cheating because it wasn't back-to-back (got 7 hours of sleep and a lot of chores done between them).

A couple of different times I have skied either Sugarloaf or Sunday river during the day and then raced at Shawnee Peak the same night. I do that a lot on weeks when I am on vacation. I have never been to 2 different mountains during the same day though.

I've skied Smuggs and Stowe in the same day...lol

Two seasons ago I skied a morning session at Blue mountain and there was a storm forecast to begin that afternoon. I went home after a quick 20-25 runs..then hung out until it started to snow...then drove back up to Blue and skied the evening session. Then I left for skiing extra early the next morning around 6:00AM to ensure first tracks when the lifts opened at 7:30AM..I know I didn't sleep that much due to waking up every hour to watch the snowstorm. About two hours into my session...I was straightrunning powder bumps..and a snowsnake caught me and all my weight fell on my upper left arm/shoulder...I knew something was wrong when I had no strength in that arm. But I continued to ski another several runs with both poles in one arm. The next day I went to the ER and had X-rays taken but it was only muscle damage..so two days later I was back on the slopes. About a week later in Nastar I fell hard on that same arm again but ended up skiing like 37 days in a row...
