packed powder
Whiteface has been blowing a ton of snow in the past couple of weeks. This weekend they opened up Mountain Run and Upper Parkway. The guns were blowing on the all weekend and if you got there early you had manmade powder shots. Not the real thing but it is very nice. Both runs have nice pitches and U.P funneled back into M.R half way down. Its 900 foot of great decent. It bumped up and it was showtime for the people on the lifts. All 40 of them.
Other notable decent. Essex over to lower cloud( they change the name to victorior this year), There are done for the time being making snow on these two trails but there was still powder all over the place.
That was it for expert trails but I could lap those all day if the conditions are right. Which they were.
The intermediate trail excelsior and valley were in great shape. They still have some pitch to them and can be a lot of fun along the sides.
Beginner terrain. I dont go on those trails really they are off to skiers left but at the end of the day we finish off there to see whats up. Its all covered with nothing but man made packet powder.
I dont know whether it was the new skiis or what but I did not loose an edge on any trail anywhere on the hill yet this year.
Wilmington trail opens tomorrow. Another entire mountain. Is 2.5 miles and I am guessing 2k vert. They are moving the guns to lookout below. Its a short steep trail and it won't take long. I am thinking Sat. Then they are heading to the top of the hill.
Its looking good in the North.
